Shine designed and produced a series of unique animated main title logos for Netflix’s Outer Banks. Each logo draws its colors, textures, and imagery from the themes and emotional tone of the episode, filling the letterforms with a cinematic visual language that reflects the drama unfolding between the Pogues and the Kooks.
Inspired by the extraordinary natural beauty of North Carolina’s barrier islands, the logos incorporate rich, atmospheric textures and colors that evoke the ocean, sky, and landscape of the Outer Banks. Each is paired with a background designed to either contrast with or complement the imagery within the letterforms, creating a distinct visual moment for every episode.
The main title treatment is intended to feel cinematic, magical, and deeply connected to the world of the series, setting the stage for each episode in a beautiful and exciting way without interrupting the action.
The picturesque Outer Banks setting is crucial, providing a stunning backdrop that enhances the show's adventurous and mysterious vibe. Its coastal landscapes, hidden treasures, and social divisions between the wealthy "Kooks" and working-class "Pogues" add depth and authenticity, drawing viewers into its unique coastal charm.
